FAQs
diamondANVILS.com will typically deliver diamond anvils and sapphire anvils within 4-5 working weeks from your order.
WC seats however take 8-9 working weeks for shipping.
If a product is in stock we aim to ship in 1 week from order.
We ship via Fedex directly from our polishing facilities in Diksmuide, Belgium. The shipping terms are CPT destination.
Yes, there is a 5% discount for orders of 20 or more diamond anvils - applicable to any type or cut. Your basket is automatically updated once sufficient items are added.
All diamondANVILS.com diamonds are first checked under UV light for fluorescence. Both short (254 nm) and long (365 nm) waves UV lamps are used in this process.
Standard measurements include laser excitation at 532 nm and covers fluorescence background in the range of 542 to 608 nm (Raman shifts between 1000 and 3000 cm-1). Measurements for different wavelength ranges can be made available on request. In special cases customers can select their own diamonds for low fluorescence using their own measurement set-up. We further classify our diamonds with respect to fluorescence according to the following criteria:
Raman low fluorescence:
The intensity of the two-phonon Raman transition at 2664 cm-1 is at least 1.25 times the intensity of the background fluorescence of diamond.
Raman ultra low fluorescence
The intensity of the two-phonon Raman transition at 2664 cm-1 is at least 2 times the intensity of the background fluorescence of diamond.
If you have different requirements, please do speak to us. diamondANVILS.com are here to help you in your research efforts.
We are able to polish culets of less than 0.03 mm with bevels of 0.24 mm. Please note that we recommend bevels for any culet size below 0.20 mm. You can select culet size (in steps of 0.05 mm) from the culets options once you select the type and design of the diamond anvils you require. Bevels are also optional. If you require a specific culet size or bevels which are not listed, please contact us.
Culet size: +/- 0.010 mm.
Diameter: +/- 0.025 mm.
Height: +/- 0.050 mm.
Parallelism between culet and table facet (the largest facet): within 5 minutes.
Table and culet are on {100} crystalographic plane, unless otherwise stated.
Note, however that our production methods enable us to achieve better results than quoted above.
Most of our diamond anvils have the table and culet in the {100} crystal plane. The {100} plane is the one with highest estimated tensile strength of 98 GPa. The other two planes {110} and {111} have 54 GPa and 53 GPa, respectively.
The {Random}-orientation brilliant cut anvils have random orientation.
We do not normally supply the Raman spectra of our diamond anvils. If you do require the Raman spectra, please contact us.
All diamondANVILS.com diamonds are selected for transparency and purity under at least 50X magnification. The diamonds are also checked under polarised light for any possible birefringence and UV light for any fluorescence. Finally, the Raman spectrum of each stone is acquired and saved. This enables diamondANVILS.com to select stones for low or ultra-low fluorescence and supply you with their spectra, if you so wish.
It is very simple. You select the type of diamond anvils you require from diamondANVILS.com and order them. Then, 4 weeks later, you receive your anvils delivered by FedEx directly to your delivery address. Payment will only be deducted from your credit card once we are ready to ship the anvils to you. If you require a specific culet size or bevels which are not listed, please contact us.
Payments are settled immediately upon the order being placed on our website. This is the case even if the shipment of the order occurs four weeks after as per our usual delivery timescales.

The colour of natural type 1a diamonds used by diamondANVILS.com is in the G, H, I and J range. These are termed as near colourless diamonds. All diamonds are selected for transparency and purity under at least 50X magnification. Our type2a synthetic diamonds are pure (less than 1 ppm impurities).
Since 2006 we are fully Quality Accredited under ISO9001. Our products are also CE marked and MET/UL certified, where applicable.
Diamonds are traded as a commodity and, as such, diamondANVILS.com believe that diamond anvils should be no different. Our profit margins are lower, we have very advanced production methods and we source our diamonds from reputable sources. These factors combined enable diamondANVILS.com to keep prices low for the benefit of the entire scientific community.
